Our Mission

To build healthier communities by providing trauma-informed crisis stabilization, behavioral health treatment, and workforce development services that empower children, adolescents, and transitional-aged youth to achieve recovery, independence, and long-term success. Through Residential Crisis Services, PHP, IOP, and Supported Employment Programs, we offer community-based alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization and law enforcement intervention while strengthening youth, families, and communities.

Meet the Team

Program Director

Kimberly Burton, LCSW-C

Kimberly Burton graduated from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in 2008. She is a Social Work board approved supervisor and a board approved supervisor for Professional Counseling. She has extensive knowledge of human development and experience working with children and families in the field of Social Work.

Ms. Burton has worked collaboratively with primary caregivers, school professionals, health care professionals, and other counselors to create individual treatment plans, increase family communication, and promote safety for children and their families. She has worked as a custody evaluator for Prince Georges 7th District Circuit Court and as a social worker for Calvert County Department of Social Services as a part of the Family Preservation Unit and Child Protective Service Unit.

Medical Director

Dr. Nji Fru

Dr. Nji Fru is a board-certified Psychiatrist Mental Health /Family Nurse Practitioner treating patients across the life span. Dr. Nji possessed a doctorate in Nurse Practitioner degree in psychiatric mental health and Family practice. Practicing Since 2017, Dr. Fru has an extensive track record of achievement in administering medical /psychiatric services with diverse populations, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Dr. Nji can provide patient care for any psychiatric disorder.

Dr. Nji has been a Nurse Practitioner with Prince Georges County Health Department and several community clinics. His primary focus is on providing leadership in mental health, addiction treatment, patient management, clinical experience, mentoring/developing staff, and effective multi-tasking to meet organizational goals. Dr. Nji enjoys functioning as a presenter, liaison, and leader. His patients continually recognize him for his attention to detail and his ability to listen actively and address their concerns with a fresh yet grounded approach to medical treatments and working within the medical guidelines to achieve their treatment objectives. Dr. Nji is licensed in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC.
